My name is Katherine and I have been successfully helping people with Clinical Hypnotherapy, HypnoBirthing, PSH Therapy and HypnoFertility for more than a decade as a qualified clinical hypnotherapist.
My clients tell me that I’m an attentive listener and I make them feel comfortable and relaxed, allowing them to have self confidence during our sessions. This is really important for successful hypnotherapy and it pleases me to continually help my clients achieve their goals. After all, I know first hand that hypnotherapy works as I used it to stop smoking several years ago. Click here to read about my experience.
Teaching my clients self hypnosis is one of the most rewarding areas of my work, especially in the case of HypnoBirthing. Having been a mother and experienced natural childbirth, it is my privilege to be able to help other women experience the joy of welcoming a baby into this world in a calm and peaceful way… the way nature had intended. Both my daughters learnt the HypnoBirthing method of child birth and both were thrilled with their birthing experiences. Click here to read about them.
HypnoBirthing is a method used to eliminate fear and pain of the birthing experience and empower women to give birth with calm and positive expectation. I teach the Marie Mongan method and was lucky enough to be certified as a practitioner at the very first course Marie held here in Australia in 2000.
I am also proud to have been active within the professional community and have held the position of National Secretary and the NSW State Secretary of the Australian Hypnotherapists Association (AHA) from 2007 until 2012. The AHA is the oldest and most respected organisation for hypnotherapists in Australia and in 2009 celebrated 60 years of formation. It is recognised by the government and the health industry for maintaining the highest standards for the profession.
Keeping up with relevant studies and new treatment fields within the industry is very important to me. Recently, I have been researching and studying more up-to-date hypnotherapy technique to help people with weight issues, with a method called HypnoGastricBand Therapy. Practitioners in the UK have been having a lot of succes with it and I have introduced this service to assist people who may be struggling with dieting and obesity.
My genuine love of helping people has meant that, over the years, I have volunteered at many organisations that provide care services for the elderly. I have worked with Meals on Wheels and Neighbour Aid, whereby elderly people are visited in their homes or nursing homes. My particular interest in volunteering in the aged care industry is due to a close and loving relationship with my grandmother and indeed fond memories of all my grandparents.
I have always been a great believer in creating just the right balance in life by enjoying family, work commitments and allowing time for hobbies and creativity. I especially love the relaxing hobby of working with bonsai plants. The art of bonsai is about meditation, patience, nurturing and creativity which I find both enjoyable and fulfilling. I also love reading books and magazines, I enjoy reading the Living Now Magazine, it is inspiring and informative.
